Building Learning Power

At Mosborough Primary School we believe in giving our children the opportunity to develop their full potential as confident, resilient, reciprocal, resourceful and reflective learners.
To find out more about how we are doing this and about the Building Learning Power project that the school is involved in have a look at our Teaching and Learning policy below.

'There is superb guidance on how to learn and how to improve.' - OFSTED 2009

The Building Learning Power (BLP) project is based on developing children's skills in four key areas:
RESILIENCE - sticking at tasks even when they become difficult.
RESOURCEFULNESS - knowing what to do when you don't know what to do!
REFLECTIVENESS- being able to think and talk about what you have learnt and how you have learnt something.
RECIPROCITY - working with and supporting others in their learning.
Details about how parents can help their children at home with these skills are outlined on one of the attachments below.
This picture shows the character PERCY VERE. Percy is a good learner. He listens, asks good questions and never gives up. If the children are faced with a difficult problem then they are encouraged to think in the way that 'Percy' would to help them find the solution.
